What does it mean to be American? What IS the American "deal"? In exchange for my/our acceptance, participation, and cooperation in and with the group's values, laws, economic and other systems, I/we receive what? Money? What is money? Money is digits encoded as 0s and 1s in various mediums and processed by various private owners of the devices that do the processing. So these digits are what I/we receive from America in exchange for my/our participation and cooperation with America?

My/our labor, my/our time, my/our talents, my/our cooperation are concrete real values in exchange for which the group OWES me/us concrete real values in return, such as Universal Health Care, a complete appropriate education, and rational National Security that does not put us in danger by killing millions of foreigners who do not need killing.
