I guess real singers do not try whatever it takes to get discovered; real singers do not want money; real singers do not want to go in front of an audience?
To many a show like this represents an opportunity that a demo tape / cd could never provide. That is why it is successful- although I do appreciate at the early stages they are nothing but a freak show - however that i swhat the music industry has to put up with on a daily basis Simon Cowell just repackaged it and stuck it on tv.
