I wrote about it before, but my brother and I waterboarded each other. I wanted to write about it in a blog because I was listening to I think Mukasey's confirmation, so we decided to try it. It was pretty effed up, if that isn't torture than I'm not sure what is. I went through it like 5 times I think? I felt like I was about to die, my heart was beating so damn hard. The thing is it doesn't sound overly bad. I hear these guys say it like it's just a little water being poured on some guy, like Joe Scarborough scoffs at this stuff. And you think you could just will yourself to take it, but you really can't. Within about two seconds it horrifies you and you feel like you're about to drown. CIA and military people who undergo it for training, some of the toughest people around, average about 15 seconds before they call it off. One of the times I lasted like 21 seconds and it took about all I had just to do it. It drains you, you're exhausted like you just ran a few miles too. It's pretty brutal.

I am pretty sure I could get just about anybody to confess to something that wasn't true by waterboarding them. You might not admit just anything, but you would lie about something just to make it stop. And I could totally see somebody going into cardiac arrest from it. Maybe not if it's done 4-5 times or anything. I could maybe see that too, but after over 100 hundred times? After other techniques like walling being performed on them? I'm surprised more people haven't died.
