there's been a shift in emphasis on Disney "princess" products and promotions, in favor of the caucasian-looking princesses (Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White) and away from non-caucasians (Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Esmeralda), and it really bothers me. Very rarely do you see "princess" items that include characters from the second group. It's as though they "aren't really princesses."

"But...but..." the cretins will chatter, "they really aren't princesses, if you think about it!"

Not so...if you take the narrow definition of "princess" (meaning, daughter of a sovereign), then Belle and Cinderella aren't in that category, but Jasmine and Pocahontas are!

Go figure, huh?
