37. I'd say both of those situations are jealousy, i.e., wanting
a relationship that others are enjoying.

Envy seems to be much more about fixating on one person, wanting what they have and hating them for what they have -- beauty, money, success, lovers, whatever.

So, I guess you can feel envious toward one person AND jealous of that person's relationships.

In "Othello", for example, Othello is jealous of Desdemona and Cassio but Iago is envious of everything Othello has.

There is a medieval woodcut of Envy, figured as a woman (of course) and she is starving to death watching another woman in the distance. That always seems to me a clear illustration of envy -- destroying yourself from the inside as you wish to destroy that Other over there. (Shudder)
