Reply #23: I had a major electrical house fire a few year ago

My phone lines burned and the phone service went out just about the time I discovered the fire.

Couldn't find the damn cell phone anywhere. I'd left it in my bedroom although I thought it was in my purse. Thankfully, my next door neighbor was home and called the FD.

Not that it helped me in that particular instance, but I like the idea of having at least one old corded phone in the house that can't get lost no matter how hard I try.
