Going back in for the gun is "according to his mother someone said". But the location of the shooting several houses away from the murderer's house certainly makes it clear the man was not trying to drive the man away from his property, but rather pursued him.

I would have thought a 1st degree conviction would be easy. But judging from the comments on that article, it appears a hefty percentage of the population considers this man a hero.
