I posted this as a reply in another thread, but I figured I'd start a new thread for this since there appears to be a huge misconception over what's actually going on. It doesn't help that the right-wing hatemongers are deliberately distoring the facts in their usual Muslim-hatefest. But it's highly disappointing to see the mainstream media circulating this misconception.

It's not a mosque. It's a community center. And it will be a couple blocks away from Ground Zero. It's not going to be part of Ground Zero.
