He has no concept of using the power of the presidency. In my lifetime, no president has failed so materially to recognize and use the power of the presidency. When you're freshly elected and have whopping majorities in both houses, you don't call a truce and try to find middle ground.

It's as if he had the GOP checkmated, but then he knocked over his own King. He conceded on a winning hand.

I don't think he has any vision on how to run the country. He's lost in his regimen. He still believes he can make everyone his friend by capitulating until they like him. I consider his story to be one of the saddest of my life. He held so much hope, so much promise, two years ago, and he blew it with weak leadership that continues to this day.
