13. Plus, as Speaker, he was the most radical who ever lived. His draconian changes to
the seniority system, the committee process, the Rules Committee, centralizing enormous power in the Office of the Speaker---not to mention, the epic fail of the Contract With America. The only plank of the 10-point platform was ending welfare as we knew it. Other than that, the CWA did nothing! I'd like to see Newtie run on that, plus his failure to get Clinton thrown of office; plus, his failure to gain more Republican seats in 1998.
