Here's what happen if we sit on our asses all day and complain nonstop: We'd get a Teabagger White House, a ridiculously conservative Congress, a divided Democratic Party, a Supreme Court that leans heavily to the right, a quick dismantling of any social safety nets and regulations we have in place, and more.

And don't give me any of this "Obama is a stealth Republican" crap. The reason Obama is in this position is because progressives decided to stay home in 2010 and let Teabaggers control the House and weaken the Dem majority in the Senate, because we weren't able to have everything passed in 2009-2010 that we wanted to (and btw, the huge majorities were only an illusion, with the Blue Dogs and people like Lieberman).

If you want liberal legislation passed, FILL CONGRESS WITH LIBERALS. That's the only way. Not Conservadems, not Republicans. Congress is where laws are made. If we stop whining and trying to divide ourselves (and really, 80% of liberals approve of Obama, so it's really just a vocal minority), and rally together and get people to vote out Republicans and put in liberals, we can get true progress.

Otherwise, we're gonna be stuck with the same old, same old: if we re-elect Obama, but with a divided or Republican Congress, that means more compromise, more moderate at best legislation. If we let Obama be a one-termer, get ready for the dismantling of what made America great.

But, if we rally together and get liberals in Congress, we can get liberal legislation. Or we can whine all day and dream about things that are completely unrealistic. Obama has not been perfect, far from it, but he can only do so much. We can make what passes in Washington more progressive by filling Congress with liberals and re-electing Obama. That's our only shot. Anything else is either a pipe dream or a complete disaster.

Being realistic is the one thing we have over the right. But, apparently, pragmatism and living in reality are too much for some. The biggest problem with Washington is Congress. We can change that. Or we can whine, divide ourselves, and let the Teapublicans take over and destroy America as we know it. It's up to us.
