I see a lot of posts talking about what is the most "human" way to react to bin Laden's death...

...and honestly I find this sort of talk amazingly disturbing. There is simply no telling how a human being is going to react emotionally to news such as this. A whole range of emotions can easily be expected. Many may celebrate the death of somebody who did many terrible things. Others will feel remorse at the death of a human. Many others may simply feel little one way or another. This is natural, and also perfectly human.

We gain nothing in dehumanizing those who don't react in exactly the same manor that we ourselves do, and in the end lose much of our own humanity in the action.
