Above a 90% rate, and the country had some of the best financial years it ever had, or that any country ever had.

Only Ronnie Raygun and his acolytes believed that lower rates are better for jobs and growth. Just the opposite - with high marginal rates, the cost of just parking money becomes high - it MUST be reinvested in plants, processes, research, all tax-deductible items.

The way it is now, we know that business has a minimum of $2 TRILLION parked and doing nothing - why should they? The incredibly bargain basement rates we have now make the cost of holding cash negligible. Nothing has to give. We just have to start paying for what we get, instead of charging.
