I think Ryan and the GOP have been surprised that the public is opposed to creating a voucher program for Medicare. I am surprised they didn't float some trial balloons before making the formal proposal.

Further the Democrats have been successful in highlighting the fact that at the same time the GOP wants to gut program after program, privatize Medicare and significantly increase costs to future seniors, they want to cut corporate and millionaire tax rates by 10%.

Let's keep at it. I think there will be some interesting surprises during next year's election cycle.
