To sum it up briefly as best I can. This Joe Barton character (whom I was just somewhat aware of) is peddling his "Christian nation philosophy" in this Daily Show interview. As noted by some posters below he uses distractions and takes silly anecdotal evidence to propose that christians are somehow under attack and that the founders intended for this to be a christian nation.
Normally I wouldn't give a shit because these types of con men have come and gone for a long time. My problem is that this man is influencing text books not just in texas but in a lot of school districts all over the country.
He takes particular pride in that he's not credited in a lot of the books he's twisted or re-written because if people know he did. The books might actually be rejected. I do think this type of covet indoctrination (shit now I sound like Beck's dumb ass) is not healthy for our kids intellect.
