We had no sick-leave policy. I asked the human resources director about this and she said sick leave was determined by the supervisor.

In other words, my supervisor determined if I should be paid for a sick day taken. The few times I was sick (a day or two), she questioned me on my day back about my illness, if I saw a doctor, and what medications I had taken. She used that information to determine if I should be paid.

I left that college after a few years...
