There are 3 credit scores. Its quite possible that one is higher than the other, and a difference of 50 points is quite possible. Out of the 3 companies that issue credit scores, there are different scoring models. One model is called auto enhanced. If you have a great history with car loans, your auto enhanced score is higher than your normal score. Have a bad auto loan history and its worse.

So, was a dealer trying to screw him and make more money. Its certainly possible. Or did one dealer pull equifax, and another dealer pull experian? That is also possible, and if so, I can see why he wouldn't get the same offer in 2 places. I would liked to see him do more research before he starting bitching. I don't know who to blame in the story, so at this point, I don't really care.
