I'm not saying that the demographic would stay home; I just think that there would be zero excitement on that end. Few GOP women would volunteer or help get out the vote; most would have deep reservations about seeing a President Gingrich in the White House.

I say this despite being male, and I don't mean to be sexist and belittle the political acumen of American women in either party. But it seems to me that while a conservative male voter might simply shrug away the ugly details behind Newt's three marriages, a female voter would find it hard to excuse such disgusting (and repeated) behavior towards women--especially since any potential Republican President these days seems to be championed as the decision-maker of reproductive rights.

As for crossover or independent female voters--forget about it.
