If the poor population were eliminated overnight, demand in the society would fall dramatically.

It is demand that creates jobs, not people.

In fact, the lack of demand by a population reeling under massive private debt is why we are in the recession in the first place.

So yes sparky, poor people give us all lots of jobs...
