So, Jon Stewart chastises Rep Steve Cohen for using Nazi propaganda references in a speech about how Republicans fought the Healthcare bill last year with, uh.. , Nazi references.
I guess he had to do that, considering his eloquence in the wake of the Tucson murder/assassination. I get that. But isn't it crazy that the Tucson attack gives us a chance to get the Republicans to tone it down at just the same time that a lone Democrat finally speaks the truth about the propaganda techniques that the Republicans have used for years to abuse the political process?
Doesn't seem fair does it? But what's that you say ? We have what we wanted? The Republican hate mongers now have to use realistic rhetoric in future campaigns? I doubt it. This truce on caustic behavior won't last for very long. They will be back at it and in the meantime the Republicans are already lying again, this time about how they really did not use such language in the first place.
Maybe Stewart is upset because the most recent rhetoric was from a Democrat which gives the Republicans a new point to start the next round of lies. I guess that is true but seriously, I support what he said. He said it directly and honestly and he was not screaming or neck-veining when he said it. On the Loony Limbaugh scale, he was only about a "3". Even his follow up response was cool when he said, "I will not say it again but I was right".
Yeah, Steve, you were right. Thanks for telling the truth. Do it again some time. Leave out the reference to the Holocaust, though - it makes you sound too Republican.
