What would you do with the increasingly poor, increasingly sick elderly? Euthanasia?

What would you do with the increasingly desperate, increasingly hopeless working poor? Jail them when they steal, not for drugs, but for food?

What would you do with the 30 year old single mother of two, who works two jobs and finds, too late, she has stage 4 ovarian cancer? Will you ask us to support her kids until they reach majority? Or would you simply put them out to fend for themselves, also without health care?

What would you do with the lifelong McJob holder who suddenly goes blind? Buy him a white cane and give him a voucher for half the cost of insurance he can't afford even with your voucher?

What would you do for the couple who need her income to supplement his, but she can't find a job that even covers the cost of the daycare for their two children? What would you do?

What would you do the family of four, who have sold everything they own of value, are working as many jobs as they can find, who have their children walking the sides of highways picking up cans, what would you do when they're finally made homeless by court order, their house taken from them and given to the mortgage holder?

What would you do for the homeless, couch-surfing heroin addict who finally sees the light and truly wants to be clean and sober? Would you do more than give her an autopen signed copy of Nancy's "Just Say No?"

What would you do for the two year old daughter of undocumented workers who contracts whooping cough while living in a migrant camp? What would you do when it spreads to other children? Would you jail the parents? Would just ship them back where they came from?

There are so many millions who need help. The number is growing. In the face of this, you wish to cut programs, telling us we can't afford them, while refusing to tax those who can well afford to pay.

In the face of all this pain, all this need, what would you do?
