Edit: He said this on his brief NPR interview right after announcing his proposed deal to extend the Bush tax cuts.

So, yes, it looks like he may onboard with the Republican narrative that it's not endless trillions in war spending, nor hundred of billions in gifts to the wealthiest fraction of Americans, but the problem of people receiving the Social Security benefits they paid for their entire lives that will have to be addressed to reduce the deficit.

Pending action of President Obama's (not words) that contradict this, I see no basis to assume otherwise than that he will be supporting across-the-board benefit cuts, such as raising the retirement age.

Is ANYONE okay with that? Any Democrat? Any liberal? Anyone?
