It says he recused himself from that 2003 case.

That quote from him, “The Rule of Law is second only to the Rule of Love. The here and now is less important than the hereafter." seems to me entirely unobjectionable.

The piece you cite seems to imply that only atheists are qualified to be judges. There is no requirement that any judge must believe that man-made laws are the ne plus ultra of justice and righteousness.

(I'm not a Christian; at most, I suspect the Theravada Buddhists may be on to something.)
