1. Corporate circular logic in action.
Business down = lay-off workers = more business depression = more laid off workers. Repeat until you close your doors.

Of course, this makes total sense when your accountable to the BOD and stockholders...but multiple that by thousands of corporations and you see the micro solutions create the macro problem. That's why business needs a strong federal government to tax, regulate, and support worker legislation with a vengence. It's ultimately in the corporations best interests that there are consumers for their products that are also employees making the products which drive their profits.
