he (and others) were the light for me as well......as I was politically unenlightened until the last 20 years. I only knew of him as the big movie star and knew nothing about his politics...Because I grew up in Oklahoma, I also knew he was an Oklahoma native and went to my alma mater, Oklahoma University, where I heard that he was an SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon)....The source article doesn't refer to his college roots so I'm not certain about his college days.

I do remember seeing him in the parade, though....riding a horse and in a cowboy outfit.I always thought that it was so humble of him to come to this little town (25,000 +/-) in Oklahoma just to be in our parade. I think it must have been when he was in Maverick and just before he went bigtime.
