Easily half of the responses were useless, hostile snark, that in addition, indicated the snarker had NOT READ THE POST IN QUESTION.

I would suggest as a first step sorting them into 'factual' statements, whether true or false, political opinions, and smears disguised as opinions. Have a good talk with the guy about the third, but start collecting solid, nonpartisan answers to the factual ones. The first category can be disproved, the second debated, but the third is useless abuse that doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.

A lot of the "firsts" are simply meaningless historical coincidences. Since our money has inflated pretty much constantly since the Fed was founded (except the Depression, of course), EVERY president is the "first" to have certain costs go beyond a certain level. There's lots of examples to pick from.
