than the country as a whole...but I fully expect Mitt to preach a new moderation and walk back a lot of hard right positions he's having to take in order to win the nomination. I believe that Mitt is more socially progressive than the typical Teapublican and I think that's where you'll see him tack left. This will piss more than a few of these 'value voters' off...probably won't take much to push them into a 3rd Party movement. If he starts changing his tune on Republican ideological policy positions, he'll lose even more of them. Will his candidacy attract more Indies and conservative Democrats by appealing to the middle? I think that is debatable. The Washington media establishment and their conventional wisdom dispensers, like George Will and David Brooks, will try to spin it this way, but I'm not so sure.
