5. In the end, it's not about Obama. It'a about us. And our children. And our world.
Or is that too "radical" for you?

Obama wasted away the greatest chance we had for at least a beginning of transformative change. The very reason he was elected. And I am more grieved that I can express that it was not only a D (I really don't care much about the Ds) but far more importantly the first person of color to win the Presidency who is presiding over our descent into blatant Oligarchy and the final destruction of the ecosystem.

But in the end, it is not about Obama. Whether he "wins" or "loses" or is "popular" or unpopular. What the polls say. It is about what happens to us - the ordinary people in this country and around the world, to our children, to the planet.

And in the reality based community who doesn't give much of a good god damn if something is a "win" for the Ds (and how this perverted mess of a Bill is seen as a "win" for the Ds, who everyone knows capitulated totally to the Rs on it is beyond me)- we only care about what it does to us. And it ain't good. In fact, it is very, very bad.

I grieve for what the Obama presidency has become. But a lot more for the world I am leaving to my daughter and grand-daughter.
