Saddam's lawyers have the US in their sights

November 22 2004 at 06:56PM

Amman - Former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein's lawyers are considering legal action against the United States for war crimes in Iraq, their spokesperson said on Monday.

"The defence team is studying the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the US and its administration at the International Court of Justice for indefinite war crimes that it committed against Iraq and the Iraqis," a statement from spokesperson Ziad al Khasawneh said.

It accused the United States of mass killings and of violating the Geneva Convention, and cited the actions of US soldiers and their allies in Fallujah and other Iraqi cities.

5. Let me say it again.
The UN indemnified the US against war crimes in Iraq.

This suit will be thrown out.

Questioning the New Imperial World Order
A Hearing on the Project for the New American Century ( PNAC)

"To plunder, to slaughter, to steal, these things they misname empire; and where they make a wilderness, they call it peace." - Tacitus

The BRussells Tribunal is a hearing committee composed of academics, intellectuals and artists in the tradition of the Russell Tribunal, set up in 1967 to investigate war crimes committed during the Vietnam War. The hearing is scheduled for 14-17th April 2004 at The Beursschouwburg and Les Halles in Brussels. It will be presided by Professor François Houtart, who participated in the Bertrand Russell War Crimes Tribunal on US Crimes in Vietnam in 1967, and one of the founding fathers of the World Social Forum in Porto Allegre. It is directed against the war in Iraq and the Imperial war policies of the Bush II administration. Its main focus will be the ‘Project for the New American Century’, the think tank behind this war, in particular three of the co-signatories of the mission statement: Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz, as they are the physical link between the discourse and the brutal practice of the New Imperial World Order as designed by PNAC. 8. The UN did NOT indemnify the US for war crimes in Iraq....
they refused to so the US unilaterally, through it's puppet interim government, indemnified itself against charges from Iraq. It, in reality, means squat once the puppet government falls.
