British MP (tells Arabs): U.S. will burn in hell
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 04:53 PM by Tab
A controversial member of the British Parliament told an Arab TV audience that those who invaded Iraq will burn in hell.

The appearance on Egyptian Abu-Dhabi TV Saturday was par for the course for maverick George Galloway, who has been involved in two libel cases with newspapers over charges he took money from the Saddam Hussein regime.
...
Videotaped statement here http://www.memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=372#
...
"The people who invaded and destroyed Iraq and have murdered more than a million Iraqi people by sanctions and war will burn in hell in the hell-fires, and their name in history will be branded as killers and war criminals for all time.

"Fallujah is a Guernica, Falluajah is a Stalingrad, and Iraq is in flames as a result of the actions of these criminals. Not the resistance, not anybody else but these criminals who invaded and fell like wolves upon the people of Iraq. And by the way, those Arab regimes which helped them to do it will burn in the same hell-fires."

13. No kidding...
George makes Parrish seem, well, kinda ridiculous in comparison!

I wonder if Galloway's comments were what 'sensitive' Jack Layton, who also denounced Parrish, would call 'unconstructive'... and pointed out that there are much better ways to criticize the American President'

George found one...'war criminals!'

4. If the Arab states that supported will burn...
...wouldn't the UK? And MP Galloway too?

No worries, I'm sure the chicks in hell will be a lot more fun than a hundred virgins.

8. He said just the people that support the invasion will burn in hell
Most of D.U. will therefore receive a "get out of hell free" card.

9. True. I certainly don't feel any guilt about
condoning what's happened in Iraq. I was against it all along. I privately fumed as the fat tubs of lard waddled around the office, waving their little flags and wore their American flag shirts with the flab protruding in between the buttonholes.

However, I also understand that the wheat can't be separated from the chaff in this case. If Usama Bin Laden decides to drop a nuclear bomb in the US, will he care that I was against the madness? Hardly. In his eyes, I'm a member of the "Great Satanic West" and he will gladly kill me along with all the rest of us.

7. I'm an agnostic
Being uncertain of the existence of hell, I need them to be punished in this life, thank you very much. That's actually one of the disservices I think religion does to society: make people willing to live with injustices they shouldn't tolerate because they figure it will be readjusted in the hereafter.

12. Wow.
Wow. He is certainly very clear in his position on this situation.

Being an advocate for social justice,...I would prefer to see consequences waged against war criminals now rather than later though.

15. Hell is a nice concept, but at this point I'm more prone to believing that
there will be a new flavor of Bryers' ice cream called "Salmon, Sour Milk, and Poodle Poop" Neapolitan. :puke:
