BOGOTA, Colombia — President Bush was targeted for assassination by Colombia's biggest Marxist rebel group last week when he visited the Caribbean port city of Cartagena, a top Colombian official said yesterday.

19. I doubt it. It's the sort of thing Bush would get his Columbian thugs to
lie about.

4. Some took Bush shoving match as a gesture of Macho
He probably heard of the death threats and was paranoid of losing his safety blanket. He sure looked desperate to keep his man with him.

7. Sorry - I just don't believe it yet
The Columbians, The Secret Service, The Administration...nobody has any comment or any details. I'm not saying it's not true, only that it sounds so very much like a Rove publicity stunt to garner sympathy and support.

12. Geez.
This is like the third newbie to post this story.
If I didn't know any better I might think this was some kind of effort to get someone to agree with the attempt on Bush's life. Like, I dunno, maybe someone from a wacko website that keeps writing to homeland security in hopes of silencing the DU voice of opposition. A site with a ridiculous article right on the front page about how evolution is a fallacy and not fact (I guess it's there so people can know up front how brain dead the site's admin is... kind of a thoughtful touch really. saves time in forming one's opinion of the site)

13. Gee, was it something he said??
"You don't get everything you want. A dictatorship would be a lot easier."
(Governing Magazine 7/98)

-- From Paul Begala's "Is Our Children Learning?"

"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked.

-- CNN.com, December 18, 2000

"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it, " said.

Those were the days...

Is some 'spook' scribe having some fun dipping his toes into water to test just how stupid people are...or did he need a new boat?

Ah...the Moonies need some filler for the weekend...ah...um...here...give them this 1974 archive...just get the intern to re-word it and forward the cheque to the usual account

Why would they give a damn? It's not like terrorists from Lichtenstein bombed a couple of office buidings in Cartagena or anything. Or is it that Bunnypants has WMD?
