Frost Said to Be Making Calls About DNC
WASHINGTON -- Defeated Texas Congressman Martin Frost is among potential candidates for chairman of the Democratic National Committee who are telephoning members about the situation, a leading Democrat said Monday.

"The following candidates are making phone calls to DNC members -- Howard Dean, Donnie Fowler, Martin Frost and Leo Hindery," said Mark Brewer, party chairman in Michigan and president of the Association of State Democratic Chairs.

Frost, a member of the House Democratic leadership team before Texas redistricting cost him his job in the November, would add a high-profile name to the mix of potential candidates. Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and former Labor Secretary Alexis Herman have said they will not try for the job.

Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb has sent videos to the state chairmen promoting his interest in the job, Brewer said. Fowler is a Democratic strategist and son of a former national chairman. Hindery is a New York businessman and former chairman of the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network LLC, a New York-based sports cable channel that televises New York Yankees baseball games.

1. Who was the house Dem who filed ethics charges against Delay
I remember he was outgoing and they said an outgoing memeber could file charges.

2. No one sounds qualified except Dean and he's a conservative
He definitely needs an education on the Bill of Rights. But other than that, Dean looks like the best one so far. Too bad Sharpton isn't running.

4. Frost would be a good choice
He would definitely understand the red state mentality, and he wouldn't underestimate the depths to which the GOP will sink.

5. Martin Frost would be a good DNC chairman
This would have the added advantage of keeping Frost out there to piss of Delay. Delay is rumored to really hate Frost.

6. Frost would be an excellent choice.
He works well with business leaders, Dems, GOPers and minorities - he gets things done and maintains his liberal agenda. His district will regret the day he stopped working for them.

11. What about John Edwards?
Except I'll bet he's thinking of running in 2008.

And what do you guys think of Daschle? I don't know enough about him to really have an opinion. I thought he was one of the good eggs until I heard Mike Malloy go off on him, but I haven't had time to do the research yet to inform myself.

14. Frost is a good man
Frost is a good man and an effective politician. He'd given thoughtful, non-canned responses to the few calls and handful of e-mails I'd sent him. Although I didn't agree with him on every issue, he never tried to be evasive or pander for my vote.

I've heard him publicly admit to erring on a vote once- something that doesn't happen very often in Washington.

He's a man of strength, character and political savvy. I never even thought he'd be considered for the chairmanship. I think he'd be a good man for the job.

Look up his voting record and see if you think he represents you on the issues and policies. If so, give him serious consideration- he's one of the few D.C. men I'd publicly endorse.

16. Donnie Fowler??????
If Michigan's "Coordinated Campaign" is any indication of this guy's ability we need to steer clear of him.
