U.S.: World Must Learn from N.Korea Nuke Crisis
VIENNA (Reuters)

The U.S. energy secretary said Monday that the world should learn from the North Korea crisis and work hard to prevent other countries from secretly developing nuclear weapons.

"We must deal immediately and effectively with any state seeking to exploit the Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to its own advantage," Secretary Spencer Abraham told delegates attending an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference in Vienna.

"We have seen what happened when (North Korea) took this route," he said. "We need to look at why North Korea was able to make so much progress on its weapons program in the first place," he said. ---

2. The Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty
Isn't that the one Pakistan has refused to sign? And wasn't that one of the reasons Musharref was on the US's foreign policy blacklist until Shrub decided to embrace him?

Neither Cuba or Israel have signed the NPT, either.

3. What would they learn?
That Rumsfeld will seccretly sell them nukes? (N. Korea got their reactor from ABB through a deal Rumsfeld helped broker as part of their board).

That if they really DO have nukes, pResident Turd will back off like he did with N. Korea...but if they don't this unelected drunk will lie about them having nukes and invade like he did in Iraq?

5. The American side breached the Agreed Framework
Not N.Korea. What are they supposed to do? Adhere to an agreement which damages their economy while the American regime breaches the Agreement?

6. Why should the rest of the world learn from the N. Korea crisis ...
If the U.S. hasn't? Rather, given that Bushistas haven't.
