Iraqi gunmen behead policeman in broad daylight
http://www.kuna.net.kw/Home/Story.aspx?Language=en&DSNO=698745

BAGHDAD, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Witnesses said here Friday that a number of gunmen beheaded a policeman and stuck a note on his corpse describing as traitors those working with or helping the police.

About ten gunmen in two cars in the Ramadi area stepped out of their vehicles, attacked a soldier, tied his hands behind his back, and cut his head off before the eyes of shocked onlookers in the street, the witnesses said.

Armed clashes between gunmen and security forces had flared in Ramadi for the second day of Eid which resulted in the injury of two gunmen.

~snip~

Furthermore a statement by the Multi-national forces said the US 204th Brigade had discovered at dawn today the body of a man in the Diali area, east of Baghdad, and had turned the corpse over to a hospital. (end) mhg.

6. Please, do not confuse the horror of such a barbaric act
with our disgust with Bush.

Let's condemn this, in strong words as we would any such act in any part of the world - I hope.

9. If it wasn't for Bush, this wouldn't have happened.
It's kind of like criticizing the French treatment of Nazi sympathizers without bringing up Hitler.

12. I don't think the poster was condoning the actions at all...
The fact is daily be-headings by various groups throughout Iraq along with daily car bombings didn't happen before the USA showed up. The US is exporting terrorism to the world.

15. That's crap! This is so horrifically barbaric, huh?? But incinerating
tens of thousands of people with white phosphorous or napalm, or blasting them to pieces with daisy cutters is swell.

Why can't they lop people's heads off?? WE are killing faaaaaar more people in faaaar more barabaric style.

13. Well, beheading is the method of (legal) execution in Saudi Arabia
so it seems a little hypocritical to support a state that uses it as part of its legal system (that is, not criticize that that country for using THAT method) and then condemn its use by another group (that you happen to be opposed to).

16. Oh yeah. bullets are far more humane. (WTF?)
The 16 ING that were executed are just as dead as this guy. I guess their deaths were a little more tidy than this beheading?

19. Bring the troops home now! Send junior to the Hague along with
the other members of his crime cabal.

Leave the Iraqis a lone to straighten out their own affairs.
