DoD Identifies Air Force Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of an airman deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. Ray Rangel, 29, of San Antonio, Texas, died Feb. 13 while performing a canal rescue mission in Balad, Iraq.

Rangel was assigned to the 7th Civil Engineering Squadron, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.

Around Thanksgiving Stars and Stripes reported that Landstuhl had treated 22,000 casualties since teh start of the War, almost all from Iraq. Figure that's at least 25,000 by now.

There have also been several reports that the number of coffins arriving at Dover is far greater than the number of official dead.

By the time this Admnistration is through, Nixon will look like an incorruptible, peaceful socialist.

It is stupefying that no one seems to give a damn except people who know someone there.

I actually think neocons like it when soldiers die. They think it gives them a sense of honor.
