Investment forum, economic deals to mark Chavez visit to Qatar
Hey, whaddaya know, some actual news about what Chavez is doing instead of the standard US propaganda.

<clips>

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived in Qatar on a two-day visit during which he will attend a forum on investment in his country and seek to boost economic links between Doha and Caracas.

Chavez will on Tuesday "open a forum in Doha under the theme 'How to invest and make business in Venezuela'," Venezuelan ambassador to the Gulf state Carlos E. Rios-Scharbaay told AFP.

The visit is the fourth by the leftist Chavez to close US ally Qatar in as many years, most recently in November 2004.

Oil-rich Venezuela and gas-rich Qatar cooperate closely on energy matters, especially within the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

2. Imagine, they actually have news in the article!! I finally figured out
why they never provide anything other than anti-Chavez propaganda in the articles in the USSA--it's because he'll make the neocons look like the MORONS they are. Don't know if I posted that pic with his little grandson--they're teaching the kid early about diplomacy.

Chavez is expected to sign agreements aimed at encouraging investments in the gas and petrochemical industries, promoting trade and tourism and avoiding double taxation.

4. Chavez is really focused. Getting so much done. He's organized.
He's making every moment count: he's a real professional. Hope his security can keep the assassins at bay.
The Associated Press/CARACAS, Venezuela

MAR. 7 4:55 P.M. ET Venezuela will have no problems finding buyers for its oil if President Hugo Chavez halts exports to the United States if U.S. aggression against his country takes place, Venezuela's oil minister said Monday.

Rafael Ramirez said Chavez's efforts to forge new commercial agreements with energy-thirsty European nations and populous countries like China and India are helping Venezuela to expand markets for its heavy crude.

Ramirez said new trade partners could purchase Venezuela's oil if Chavez's government were to halt oil exports to the United States in retaliation for any type of aggression by George W. Bush's administration.

"We have a hungry market for oil. We have demand that doesn't stop with large consumers, like India and China," said Ramirez, who also serves as the president of Venezuela's state-run oil company.
"We don't see any problems" in finding new customers, Ramirez added.
