Neocons are Brown Shirts: Part II of Ritter Interview
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 01:29 PM by lala_rawraw
Former UN weapons inspector, who worked with CIA, hits neocon ‘brownshirts’

By Larisa Alexandrovna | RAW STORY Staff

In part one of Raw Story’s exclusive interview with former UNSCOM weapons inspector Scott Ritter, the discussion focused on Iraq, Iran, and touched briefly on the probability of Russia’s unsecured nuclear materials.

Ritter also clarified his much misquoted statements with regard to a U.S. planned attack on Iran scheduled for June; elaborated on his suspicions that the Iraqi election was “cooked;” and shared his feelings on Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program.

In part two of Raw Story’s interview, Ritter elaborates his views on the neoconservative role in governing bodies and domestic issues and a delivers a scathing assessment of the CIA as “terminally ill.” Ritter spent a good part of the 1990s working closely with the CIA on Iraq related issues and continues to have contact with some former and current CIA staff.

Prior to this segment, Ritter sought to explain his feelings on the rationale behind the U.S. apparent alienation of much of the Muslim world, which he partially attributes to a domestic political gambit by the neoconservative movement.

‘The brown shirts’

Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter: Well, let’s change the environment that you are operating in… your thinking from a national security perspective. Rethink this from a domestic political consideration … here in America, from the perspective of a radical minority called the neocons.

Raw Story’s Larisa Alexandrovna: So you think a radical minority is running things?

2. I have no disagreements with what Ritter said.
I recently wrote to my Congresspeople and characterized the legislators discussion of the bancruptcy bill as proof that The Axis of Evil was alive and well in the U.S.

It appears that the characterization of Neocons as Evil is growing.

3. Yep!
I find Ritter to be very credible. Read Part I just this a.m. and appreciated his clarification regarding attacking Iran in June - already the administration is pretending to support Europe in its negotiations with Iran while making June some sort of deadline. He seems to have excellent contacts and information is very reliable.

4. That is so disturbing that I am left speechless.
Almost.

But can anything Ritter says count for anything? The neo-cons would have us see him as a 'disgruntled employee' of the type that takes a nine millimeter to the office. That's what he's doing, walking in and opening up on the people that dissed him at work.

Never mind that he's telling the truth.

15. He was right
about the WMD before the war, when everybody else were wrong. That should at least give him some credibility.

19. Credibility with DU, where most of us have perused the PNAC
game plan, is one thing. But to the general public who are spoon-fed their news by CNN and the WH press corp, he's just another disgruntled employee. Without the PNAC for reference, he's just a voice in the wilderness.

Has anyone conducted a poll of the general public, asking about knowledge of PNAC, the plans, the signatories?

5. Very, very scary - calls the neocons "evil."
Raw Story: Some have suggested that the neocons are simply incompetent.

Ritter: Actually, I think they are very competent because they are succeeding. I would say logically, are they really this criminally disposed to fundamental evil? That is what they are really, evil.

Raw Story: The entire government and law enforcement arms cannot all be evil. You are talking about a small group of people, aren’t you?

Ritter: There is not that many of them, so yes, of the neocons, they can all in fact be evil. They have exploited a situation politically to the point where no one can challenge them. They just appointed John Bolton. No one will stand up and challenge that appointment.

17. The part he don't get but we can help with is
Shining a light on who in the EFF they are using to facilitate this climate of fear and why factually it's all mostly contrived or made up. The Neo-Cons biggest weakness is they really don't have a lick of personal integrity or pride and prey on others around them that have some of it to act as a buffer zone.
Don't be afraid to help peel them other secondary people that act as a buffer zone away. Their support is very soft, especially when they come to realize what they are doing. Why do think Colin left anyway?

This little excerpt is very telling to me

(snip)
Raw Story: Do you feel the latest flurry of warnings with regard to biochemical and/or nuclear attacks are part of this strategy–fear–or is something coming down the pike?

Ritter: No, they are using fear. Robert Mueller said he is a 100 percent certain that the US will be attacked by chemical and biological weapons. That’s a stunning statement if you think about it. I am a firefighter here in New York state, if we are going to be attacked by chemical/biological weapons; then why am I and other first responders not being mobilized to be trained in responding to that environment… in an emergency fashion? I mean this is a national security imperative.

(snip)

It tells me that Mr. Ritter is still a little close but he understands full well how the country has taken over by brown-shirts. This take-over or coup took a couple of decades to materialize as far as I can see. So however long it takes to purge could be anyone's guess.

The biggest part of solving a problem is knowing there is one

20. I cannot
Speak to additional things that Mr. Ritter may or may not know. There is, however, a third and final installment to run late this week, but I think one of your questions is of topic in that conversation.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I was having a fit over the blogcall thing: I am horrid at giving presentations, hence I write, lol.

22. The question of why Colin left?
The only other question was an excerpt from the article.

Mr Ritter is proof in the pudding, the whole first responder thing is a joke to the Neo-cons. Mostly they already know they are the ones initiating and perpetrating much of it. Does not your cynical side make you suspect the Junta occupying the D.C. area and that they seem just a bit too complacent if there really was this danger from the outside coming in and not vis-a-versa?

Another poster put it quite well just yesterday. He called them "The catch me if you government". The real honest ones are far and few in between anymore
