Congress Quickly Votes to Reinstate Do-Not-Call Registry ((Senate, too))
Edited on Thu Sep-25-03 05:34 PM by FlashHarry
On edit: they've updated their original story with the Senate info.

Also on edit: I've updated the original 'breaking' headline to reflect the current headline.

<snip>
The Senate voted, 95 to 0, late this afternoon in favor of the legislation, following the 412-to-8 vote in the House earlier in the day.

1. I'm damned glad they got important things done first.

7. he damn well better
there are 50 million phone #'s registered to 'do not call' and that means a certain percentage are 2 voters, or more, so that's a chunk of voters wanting this.

but then, he could just piss on 'em as usual.

My state (NC) announced on the evenews that they have a back up plan already in state law in case it didn't pass, but didn't think it would be necessary.

12. It's not a "registry"-- it's a
"FOCUS GROUP"

and thus will be ignored by the deserter-in-thief (just like the anti-war protests).

Hard core RW'ers refer to this as another "Big Government" program. "Almost like Hillarycare".
