Judge denies Stewart's appeal for new sentence
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050411/ap_on_bi_ge/martha_stewart

NEW YORK - A federal judge Monday rejected Martha Stewart's bid to end her five months of house arrest early, calling her sentence "reasonable and appropriate."

The homemaking maven also told the judge that serving the rest of her sentence would hamper production of her two upcoming television series — a daytime talk show and a new rendition of NBC's "The Apprentice."

1. I doubt she's a flight risk
This is pretty silly. She's lost millions because of this conviction.

Not letting her out of her house a couple months early seems pretty petty in the grand scheme of things.

2. Meanwhile, on the roads of Florida, pervs only have to check in
by phone before they set off to murder little girls. I'm not a fan of Martha's, but something's wrong with this picture.

4. But don't forget
Martha is a Democratic fund-raiser.

Mike Schachter's career prospects are looking better every day.
