DeLay under fire from local Republican (a Texas voter)
Sugar Land Congressman Tom Delay is tangled in a national fight for his career due to allegations he broke ethics rules. But while that fight is playing out on a national scene, one of the Congressman's conservative constituents is putting heat on him locally, too. And her GOP loyalty is under fire for helping organize a protest against DeLay.

The full-page ad is eye-catching. It's inside Tuesday's edition of the "Fort Bend Sun," promoting a protest this weekend against Congressman Tom DeLay.

. . .

Baig says she's a retired teacher and a moderate conservative. The 57-year-old dislikes DeLay for his views on education and for not serving in the military, among other things. When she heard the House Majority Leader would be the keynote speaker at this weekend's NRA convention in Houston, she spent several thousand dollars of her own money to buy an ad encouraging others to protest him.

"There are a few Republican bad apples. I'm not sure Tom DeLay has really represented the Republican Party. I think he has really represented Tom DeLay," she says.

3. I pray the democratic party uses this ...
This is gold and we are not mining it's full potential. If we serperate the neocons from the Republicans, there is hope in redemption for the Republicans who still care for Democracy. Perhaps the numbers of those who oppose the "leaders" and co-opted their party are growing. Perhaps we can create allies against the toads that have hopped into all of our pool.

4. I personally think we should support Delay.
He represents everything wrong with the Republican party, and is such a convenient target of our anger and criticism. I almost want him to stick around so he can rub off on other congressional Rethugs.

On second thought, kick him out. His bullshit is only hiding the equally strong stench coming from the White House. He's fun to kick around and lots of fun watching him whine and squirm, but we've got bigger fish to fry. Run him out and hope for a domino effect.
