Bush wants more information on Schiavo's collapse; call to 911

The Associated Press
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Thursday he might ask a state attorney to investigate allegations that Terri Schiavo's husband waited more than an hour to call 911 after her 1990 collapse.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, have previously said their son-in-law waited more than an hour to make the call. An autopsy report released Wednesday didn't address the allegation.

"There's some doubt about when she did collapse and how long it took ... for the 911 call to be made," Bush said. "Which I think is worthy of some investigation. I don't know what form it would take."

Bush said he might ask Bernie McCabe, state attorney for Pinellas-Pasco, to look into the issue, but that would have to wait until McCabe returned from vacation.

Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 10:29 PM by Straight Shooter
Surely they must have been emotionally abusive, otherwise why else would she have developed bulimia? No, wait, let's go after the grandparents for the way they raised her parents ...

Let's blame anyone but Terry. Sorry, it was her psychological condition. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

There CAN'T BE ANY INVESTIGATION INTO:

!. Why JEB raided the flight school in Palm Beach and confiscated all their records on the night of 9/11...

!. Why OFFICIAL MMINUTES of an OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT MEETING stating that the President of the United States was going to "fix" (aka "fudge" ) intelligence to go to war......

children? Since Ted confessed to it and his daughters concurred. All on TV tape. All on a show called "Daughters of Rockers" seen on MTV or VH1. I wonder what was on the complete original directors tapes?

Since MJ investigation was launched because of his TV interview why isn't one launched into a man who admitted molestation and two eyewitnesses concurred to the statements.

Or does it work that Dems are investigated using millions of taxpayer dollars to uncover any wrong doing but Repukes are almost never investigated even when laws have been clearly broken.

Probe Sought in Terri Schiavo 911 Call

The Associated Press
Friday, June 17, 2005; 10:52 AM

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush asked a prosecutor Friday to investigate why Terri Schiavo collapsed 15 years ago, calling into question how long it took her husband to call 911 after he found her.

In a letter faxed to Pinellas-Pasco County State Attorney Bernie McCabe, Bush said Michael Schiavo testified in a 1992 medical malpractice trial that he found his wife collapsed at 5 a.m., and he said in a 2003 television interview that he found her about 4:30 a.m. He called 911 at 5:40 a.m.

"Between 40 and 70 minutes elapsed before the call was made, and I am aware of no explanation for the delay," Bush wrote. "In light of this new information, I urge you to take a fresh look at this case without any preconceptions as to the outcome."

Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Friday from The Associated Press. In comments in The Miami Herald, he said Terri Schiavo would not have survived if her husband had not immediately called 911.

and that's not fair.

If any of these repukes found a beloved family member unconscious on the floor of their bathroom between midnight and six a.m. fifteen years ago, I bet they'd be hard-pressed to remember every detail exactly. This sort of thing is so unfair, calling on people to recount what happened fifteen years ago, minute by minute.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida Governor Jeb Bush signed Executive Order 01-261 September 7, 2001, four days before the WTC tragedy of Sept. 11, which paves the way for a declaration of martial law in his state. The governor, in his EO, delegated to, “...the Adjutant General of the state of Florida all necessary authority....to order members of the Florida National Guard into Active Service.”

72. Probe Sought in Terri Schiavo 911 Call
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 10:52 AM by GiovanniC
If I was Michael Schiavo, I would unleash a hellish fury on these bastards.

Gov.

<snip>

"It's absolutely preposterous," Felos (Michael Schiavo's attorney) said. "If he had waited 70 minutes she would have been dead."

78. I saw the parents and siblings last night
on "Countdown," as the other daughter - who is in a PVS of her own - read the "family's" statement demanding further investigation into the cause of Mrs. Schiavo's collapse all those years ago, and then, with absolutely no link of logic, demanding that Michael Schiavo give back the malpractice award money he got when he sued the doctor who had been treating his wife - all those years ago.

Interestingly, they were all bunched behind a podium with a big "National Right To Life" logo on it.

So now we know who's paying that "family" to continue to whore their dead daughter and to continue slandering the name of a good and decent man.

92. Gov. Bush wants probe of Schiavo collapse (WTF?????)
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) -- Gov.

Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Friday from The Associated Press. In comments in The Miami Herald, he said Terri Schiavo would not have survived if her husband had not immediately called 911.

I thought Steven Harper of the CPC up here was the King of idiotic political moves, but Jebby is closing fast.

105. Sore loser talk, Jeb
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 10:34 AM by rocknation
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, have previously said their son-in-law waited more than an hour to make the call. An autopsy report released Wednesday didn't address the allegation.
And why wasn't the allegation investigated when the parents made it? What proof do they have--were they at the scene? I think a doctor would have noticed if Terri's brain had been without oxygen for the better part of an hour. Are the Florida police that incompetent, or did they dismiss the charge as pure vindictiveness on the Schindlers' part?

(Jeb) Bush said the medical examiner shouldn't determine if there was a gap. "This is really out of his realm," Bush added. "It's not a medical examiner's job to determine why there would be a gap if there was one."
If someone medical isn't qualified to make such a determination, who is?

Terri Schiavo died March 31 from dehydration after her feeding tube was disconnected despite unsuccessful efforts by Bush to keep her alive.
She was NOT alive--she died when her brain did years before, and her brain stem was merely being kept functional on life support. The difference between the two is what lay at the crux of the entire matter. And this paper calls itself an "information leader?" Sheesh.

113.  Statute of Limitations.............
Statute of Limitations.............

Even if Michael Schiavo admitted he delayed calling 911, the statute of limitations would have expired long ago on any crime arising from it.

"I can't imagine what in the world he could be charged with," said Mark Lipinski, a Bradenton lawyer who is not involved in the case but has followed it closely. "So the governor's request sounds more like a political request rather than a law enforcement request because there is absolutely nothing they could do."

"What we're trying to get a handle on is what really happened that night," said David Gibbs III, the Schindlers' attorney. "Why did a healthy, 26-year-old girl collapse like this? And there's only one witness to the event. And with all these inconsistencies, we're trying to get some answers."
