Court Favors Sen. Clinton in Calif. Case
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A lower court must reconsider whether to remove Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton from a civil suit over a lavish 2000 Hollywood fundraising gala, an appeals court ruled Tuesday.

Businessman Peter F. Paul, who bankrolled the event, alleged that he was misled by Clinton and others into underwriting the event. He believed her husband, former President Clinton, would work for his company Stan Lee Media Inc. in return.

Paul sued when Clinton didn't work for him. He's seeking general, special and punitive damages.

Paul, a three-time convicted felon, claims that he spent more than $1.9 million on a star-studded gala that attracted Cher, Diana Ross, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.

that was enforceable . . . I wouldn't trust his word if he said I was about to breathe . . .
