Bad lasagna sours Argentina summit security (Where * is)

The massive security force deployed by Argentina for an Americas-wide presidential summit this week suffered its first glitch on Wednesday -- food poisoning.

At least 70 federal police officers guarding the beach resort hotel where U.S. President George W. Bush and others will meet were overcome by diarrhea and vomiting after dining on lasagna at a nearby hotel late Tuesday, police commissioner Daniel Rodriguez told local radio.

The indisposed officers received medication and were expected to be well enough to resume their duties later in the day, Rodriguez said.

The hotel is the preferred eating grounds for the 700-strong police squad patrolling the city, but was closed by city inspectors following the incident.

Bet you had visions of * barfing like Poppy on some world leader!

1. DimSon has a food taster. No doubt he has his own cook prepare
his viddles. I wonder how he likes being the least liked guy living on the planet. He was probably second after Saddam. Now he's first.

He will have to live the rest of his miserable life with many guards and food tasters because I'm sure he can't repair the hatred he's massed for himself. The fucker.

served to him during a luncheon. I bet that pisses of his hosts.

14. They destroyed part of QEII's prized rose garden and made her very unhappy
according to reports. They also wanted to replace the glass in the guest bedrooms with bulletproof glass. The Queen put her foot down and would not allow them to ruin her historic home.

2. Hmm....
:tinfoilhat:

How likely is it, really, that food poisoning would afflict ONLY the security detail, when presumably all of the staff associated with the event are eating the same food prepared in the same kitchen?

It would be very interesting to learn who had access to the hotel while it was shut down by the health department, and is filling in for the sickened police.

12. Patrick Fitzgerald is the number one suspect
Fitzgerald's noir mystique was only strengthened this week by news accounts relating that in contrast to the rapier focus of his mind, Fitzgerald lives in a bachelor apartment with old socks stuffed in the desk drawer and three-month-old lasagna stiffening in the oven.

15. They need to hire the brave Thai mouse warrior against terrorism.
From an October 2003 article about Bush's trip to Thailand:
Thai mouse to risk life for Bush in last line of bio-chemical defence

A humble mouse is to put its life on a plate for US president George Bush this weekend - acting as his official food taster to thwart any attempt at a bio-chemical assasination.

The rodent is one of 10 selected by the authorities in Thailand, where Mr Bush is starting a four-day visit today, and will be served samples of food which the president will eat.

According to Thai officials, the mouse will nibble on Thai dishes and then be observed to see if it drops dead or suffers any ill effects.

16. Maybe it was that lasagna that Fitzgerald
forgot about in the oven? You know Irish people shouldn't try to cook Italian food.

17. Bad cheese....or rotten tomatoes.
Then again lots of tomatoes are fertilized with human waste is these countries. That is why it is more than highly recommended that they be throughly washed repeatedly before use.
