Bolten said to push Goss's exit

Intelligence insiders say that former CIA Director Porter Goss was given less than a day to pack his bags by new White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten, who is moving swiftly to put a new and more aggressive face on the administration.

Despite Monday's praise by President Bush for Goss, with whom he held an exit ceremony last Friday at the White House, the insiders say that the decision to dump Goss came hard and fast. One says that Goss revealed to his senior staff on Friday that Bolten had called him last Thursday night to ask if he had "thought through an exit strategy."

On Friday morning, Bolten made a second call to demand Goss's resignation that day, which he gave.

Methinks Negroponte wants someone "super smart" that will also abide by his wish of trashing the CIA and beefing up the DOD. Goss was beginning to bumble. Although Hayden is a Signals Intelligence vice Human Intelligence SPOOK, he's sharp and can get the dirty work done. Poor Porter Goss has lost far too many brain cells to playing the rolls of Politico and Partisan Hack.

This was a set up, IMO, look at Goss's facial expressions - the Dude did NOT want to go.

Plus I wouldn't be surprised that they have On-Call Hookers up to the gills in all Departments. You only get busted when you cross the BushBotBorg. ;)

No, I know about the college association and I'm sure they're still buddies. However, IMO Negroponte used a willing Bolton to do his "dirty work" because Goss has proven himself to be ... not the sharpest knife in the drawer. :-)

6. Josh may be doing exactly the right thing for exactly the wrong reason

because he's managing to get rid of a lot of the inner circle, this isolating the boy emperor from his enablers within the imperial bubble.

I don't particularly want to see the government shut down if the Democrats retake Congress, just to impeach the Dope. I want to see him isolated, alienated, frustrated, blockaded, and generally neutered until his term is over. Then, when he's safely out of office, I want him charged, tried, convicted, and imprisoned, along with his whole gang of thieves and blackguards.

That is the first step this country will have to take if it's ever to get its international reputation back, proof that Idiot was an aberration and not just government as usual.
