Kidan: shooter in Boulis murder was killed three years ago

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A man killed three years ago was the person who fatally shot SunCruz Casino founder Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis, a partner in the SunCruz Casinos purchase told authorities.

John Gurino, an associate of John Gotti, was the person who shot Boulis in 2001, according to Adam Kidan, who purchased SunCruz from Boulis with partner Jack Abramoff. Kidan's statement was made in a taped interview with authorities May 1, according to a report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. It was not clear how the paper obtained the interview.

Kidan had Abramoff had both previously insisted, through their attorneys, that they knew nothing about Boulis' killing.

Kidan's statement was made as part of a detailed 2 1/2 hour interview he had with Fort Lauderdale homicide detectives and the lead prosecutor in the Boulis murder case, according to the paper.

According to Kidan, after Moscatiello confided in him, Ferrari said, "This happened. We have no choice it happened and now you're involved in it. If it ever comes down to it, I'm going to say you paid us...Don't screw with me or I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill your family.'"

Notice how little we've heard about the bigger fish in this case: Jack's role as middleman in foreign influence peddling to the GOP leadership. That's the real target of this investigation -- at least it should be -- but, there's several layers of pillows being pressed down hard over it.

The threat of a murder charge may be enough to make Jack talk about the important things. Assuming, of course, that the US Attorney isn't sitting on those pillows.

Adam Kidan told authorities last month that SunCruz Casinos founder Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis was killed by John Gurino, a man with mob connections who was later shot to death by a business partner, said Art Carbo, an investigator with the Broward County State Attorney's office.

Carbo said Gurino a supporter late mob boss John Gotti had not been part of the investigation before Kidan's May 1 interview. "He came up with all of this information," Carbo told The Associated Press on Friday.

Kidan and Abramoff had previously insisted, through their attorneys, that they knew nothing about Boulis' killing. Three other men are charged with murder in the case.
