Watchdog backs CIA flights report

Europe's human rights body has passed a resolution accusing European states of colluding with the CIA on secret flights transferring terror suspects.

It says some countries provided staging posts for unlawful CIA flights, while others let the US abduct suspects from their soil.

The Council of Europe will also view video testimony supporting the charges.

Under the CIA policy of rendition, prisoners are moved to third countries for interrogation.

The plane, N313P, a Boeing 737, landed in Timisoara on January 25, 2004 just before midnight after flying from Kabul. It stayed on the runway for just over an hour and then flew on to Palma, Mallorca, where a CIA rendition team stayed in a hotel under fake identities."
