LONDON, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- A suspected Al Qaeda plot with strong Pakistani connection to blow up as many as 10 civilian airliners during flights from the UK to the US was foiled Thursday with the arrest of 21 people in the UK and seven persons in Karachi, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported Friday.
Pakistan Foreign Office Spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said from Islamabad that "arrests have been made after exchange of information between the two governments" of Britain and Pakistan.
She, however, did not specifiy how many arrests had been made and where.
Informed sources said seven persons were arrested in Karachi.
