Dollar Hits New Lows vs. Euro
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 10:37 AM by rumguy
"The dollar fell to a fresh record low on the euro on Wednesday for the fourth session in a row, in the grip of a downtrend fueled by U.S. current account deficit, geopolitical and trade concerns.

The dollar hit a fresh five-year low against the British pound, a seven-year low on its index against a basket of currencies and a new six-year low against the Australian dollar after the Australian central bank raised interest rates.

Analysts say strong U.S. economic data in the past few days is largely priced into financial markets, U.S. interest rates look set to remain around 1.0 percent for the time being and Washington's engagement in Iraq is undermining sentiment."

2. Gee that's really gonna boost the 'booming' economy... with no jobs yet...
I am sick and tired of hearing 'experts' on the economy, all of whom are gainfully employed, and probably not underemployed, talking up this nonexistant boom based on some numbers on paper (which have probably been tweaked by some repukes somewhere).
They need to get out into the real world and see how much of the 'decline' in jobless numbers is due to people running out of benefits and thus dropping off the roles; how many people are working at shit jobs at pathetic wages, looking for the professional career jobs for which they are qualified but which are not there; how many people are a paycheck or two away from financial disaster due to low wages/high insurance, housing, other costs...
Shrub and his extrmist goons are going to destoy us all if we don't get his sorry ass out of there!

3. The Crumbling dollar -
is starting to turn ugly. Becoming part of the head line news. Of cours, the link you posted is still full of happy talk, trying to blaim the dropping dollar on "weakness" else where. It seems they like to pick on the French and German economyes the most.

6. last week - after the Medicare Fraud Bill was passed
ABC Evening News did an indepth report on the entire scam that the Bill was -

so since the reporting (major media) if done at all, is done after the fact -

we will not hear anything about the disaster until after we have reached a point of no return.

Cheerio! the market is UP!

Do not look at that man behind the curtain!

7. they are at a point where they need all resources to prop
the economy...so the market doesn't crash with a falling dollar and rising rates and rising gold prices

the health care and tax benefits are for corporations so they can get earnings up ...and their stock price...this is not for people ...that's why they can ship jobs around the world with no repurcussion.

The US is in sad shape financially

8. when bush stole the election
I made it my mission to eliminate all debt
and sheild myself from economic disaster via steps towards self reliance

it reminds me fo the "boom" and how people could not imagine how the market could be anything but up up up. Well, the economic viability of this country will be the same and crooks will walk away unscathed.

don't let yourself be a victim.

11. "a show of dislike of what's going in on in the ME & B*sh policies"
"'In a word, market players are cutting dollar positions in a show of dislike of what is going in on in the Middle East and (U.S. President George W.) Bush's policies,' said Kosuke Hanao, head of forex sales at Royal Bank of Scotland in Tokyo."

Ouch.
