Poll shows Webb ahead of Allen

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-poll25oct25,0,2498438.story?coll=la-home-headlines

The Times/Bloomberg polls found that among likely voters:

In Ohio, the Democratic challenger, Rep. Sherrod Brown, led Republican Sen. Mike DeWine, 47% to 39%.

In New Jersey, Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez held a 45%-41% edge over his GOP challenger, Tom Kean Jr.

In Virginia, Democrat Jim Webb led Republican Sen. George Allen, 47% to 44%.

In Missouri, Republican Sen. Jim Talent was ahead of Democrat Claire McCaskill, 48% to 45%.

In Tennessee, Republican Bob Corker — the former mayor of Chattanooga — led Democratic Rep. Harold E. Ford Jr., 49% to 44%, in the race for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Bill Frist.

The polls, supervised by Times Polling Director Susan Pinkus, were conducted Friday through Monday. They have a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points in Ohio, Missouri and Tennessee, five percentage points in Virginia and 5.5 points in New Jersey.

The Times/Bloomberg poll results are generally in line with other recent surveys. In Virginia, however, this is the first major poll to show Webb leading Allen.

5. Wasn't Ford ahead at one point?
I've seen two polls now with Ford trailing. I'm a little worried 'bout that one.

7. Don't count on Tennessee. If Jesus Christ came back
as a black man and ran in that race he would have trouble

4. Not sure how reliable this is
even though its a major poll. Allen has been creeping away from Webb in previous polls as has Corker from Ford.

6. Much of that is positive, but in Virginia and Tennessee
I am sad to say, the polls indirectly say that racisim still permeates the South

After the racisit and anti-Jewish statements made by Allen in Virginia, and that fact that the outrageous racist ads going on against Ford, makes me just shake my head.

Both Web and Ford are moderate to conservative, this has much more to do with race or predjudice that even the polls are afraid to ask

For years the press would hide the dirty little secrets of strum thruman, lester maddox, and the other merchants of segregation and hate, and portray them as "honorable" politicians"

10. Don't look for much 24/7 cable coverage of THIS poll. . .
They are still to busy clucking and ruminating about the one that had Allen ahead. (with the "+/-" conspicuously absent from the screen).

11. Karl Rove on NPR
"You look at four of five polls. I look at 60 polls, many private, each and every day! And my polls tell me that we keep the house and the senate. George Allen will trounce Webb."

And here I thought that this White House was apolitical and did not look at polls.

13. I believe it is mixed with bovine and ovine fecal matter, too.
Just finished reading Kuo's masterbatory "I am a GOOD Christian" description of the White House. While he tries, without saying it, to call Rove a Machiavelian piece of shit who used the issue of religion for political purposes, he says (almost too often) that Bush is a good, jesus loving man. It was as though he was awestruck and bought Bush's bull hook line and sinker. He also thought that Rove was a sweet man on the inside.
yeah. sweet pig shit.

Rove clearly gave a lot of gardening advice to the shrub, but shrub was the decision maker - meaning that the whole religious aura of this administration was bunk, for convenience, and based on a set of well-thought out lies.

16. By all means...
My mirth is based on the reality of the race and not on any Rovian manipulated results.

The fact they must resort to cheating to win will only make their eventual downfall, harder.

17. Except for Ohio, all of these are within the margin of error

as have been every poll that I've seen about Tenn, Mo, New Jersey and Va.
