6. Still no URL on the CNN site as of 5PM EST
Judy "Smirk cussed out my husband in front of me" is whining about how this will "hurt all the other candidates."

TRANSLATION: "BWWWAAAAAAAAH! Now that Dean has it in the bag won't be able to depict Democrats as divided and a circular firing squad anymore (because they actually debate issues instead of acting in Fascist lockstep like the GOP)."

They're talking about it on Fox right now - the sole reason I stopped channel surfing to watch this retched channel. Great news!

Source: Al Gore intends to endorse Howard Dean

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Former Vice President Al Gore intends to endorse Howard Dean for the Democratic presidential nomination, a dramatic move that could boost Dean's front-runner position.
Gore, who lost to President Bush in the disputed 2000 election, has agreed to endorse Dean in Harlem in New York City on Tuesday and then travel with the former Vermont governor to Iowa, sight of the Jan. 19 caucuses which kick off the nominating process, said a Democratic source close to Gore.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Dean will return from Iowa in time for Tuesday night's Democratic debate in New Hampshire.

8. Here's the source for the breaking story -- USA Today

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Former Vice President Al Gore intends to endorse Howard Dean for the Democratic presidential nomination, a dramatic move that could boost Dean's front-runner position.

<SNIP>

The endorsement comes just weeks after two key union endorsements boosted Dean's candidacy. Gore's approval adds further evidence to Dean's case that he can carry the party's mantle next November and is more than an Internet-driven outsider.
<SNIP>

Wow! I didn't think that Gore would come out this early to endorse, but I think Al knows how bad things really are and are getting with Bush at the helm and DINO Democrats spinning in pointless circles chasing after those ever elusive swing voters.

This is awesome news for us Deanocrats and former Gore supporters.

12. anonymous source?
I hate this stuff. When Gore actually says something that will be news. The tipper, even if floating an idea, is not helping Democrats.

I think waiting to see the results of the superior Dean campaign machine is still the wiser course. Past candidates with superior machines have included Nixon, the bushes, some losing Dem candidates.
Weighty endorsements are perhaps not a very democratic or wise move? Other cnadidates without the great apparatus may be better, but history is not kind to their prospects. Our party primary system allows for more depth and collective wisdom thankfully and Dean will be all the stronger by vindicating his organization on his own merits.

Of course, I am not against endorsements, but I am more curious what the voters will say in the primaries than the prelims.

11. If Dean is good enough for President Gore
Then who am I to argue.

I'm now behind Dean, and will remain there so long as President Gore backs him.
